A large circular guilloche medallion with an intricate engine-turned rosette occupies the centre, its circumference carrying the inscription 'LA REPÚBLICA ORIENTAL DEL URUGUAY'; two symmetrical ornate guilloche panels flanking the medallion each enclose the denomination numeral '1', with elaborate lathe-work borders and arabesque motifs filling the upper and lower margins. The printer's imprint appears in a panel at the lower centre. |
