| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Queen Isabella II facing right, her hair elaborately dressed with a laurel wreath and ribboned tresses falling behind the neck. The effigy is rendered in high relief with fine portrait detail. A circular legend surrounds the bust, with the mint name MANILLA and date 1857 appearing in the lower field beneath the portrait. The entire design is framed by a dentilated border. |
