Obverse description Black letterpress printing on a light orange underprint, with the Mexican national coat of arms — an eagle perched on a nopal cactus clutching a serpent — centrally placed as the main vignette. The issuer's name and place of issue with date appear at the top, face value in numerals at upper left and both right corners and in words at lower right, a black series letter at right, and a five-digit red serial number below it. Three manuscript signatures with their official titles are arranged at lower left, while a red 'EM' overprint appears at lower centre above the printer's imprint at the base.
