Obverse description The Philippine national coat of arms occupies the central field, featuring a quartered shield bearing a radiant sun with eight rays in the upper dexter quarter, three five-pointed stars arranged across the chief, an American eagle in the lower sinister quarter, and a lion passant in the lower dexter quarter, all above a scroll inscribed REPUBLIKANG PILIPINAS. The outer legend reads REPUBLIKA NG PILIPINAS along the upper arc, with BANGKO and SENTRAL flanking the date at the base, separated by a five-pointed star on each side. The date appears prominently in the lower field between the two legend segments.
