| Obverse description | The obverse is dominated by a central vignette of the Sultan Hassan Mosque and Madrasa in Cairo, rendered in an intaglio-style engraving against a fine guilloche underprint in shades of brown and orange. The Arabic inscription of the issuer name, البنك المركزي المصري, appears at upper right, with the denomination جنيه واحد in large Arabic script below it. The serial number is printed twice, at upper left and lower center, alongside the issue date and the governor's signature title المحافظ at lower right. |
