| Obverse description | A harbour vignette occupies the upper centre of the note, printed in dark ink on blue French paper, with guilloche corner ornaments bearing the £1 denomination. The title THE STATES OF GUERNSEY arches across the top, while the central panel carries the promise to pay legend and the value ONE POUND within an oval cartouche. The serial number appears twice and a manuscript Treasurer signature is present at lower right, dated 1st January, 1945. |
