Obverse description Right-facing effigy of King Idris I, depicted as a draped bust wearing a traditional fez with a band, rendered in high relief in the style of sculptor Paul Vincze. The king's beard and facial features are finely detailed. Arabic legends flank the portrait on both sides of the field, with the engraver's initials 'P.V.' incuse at the base of the bust. A toothed border frames the entire design.

Reverse description Central design featuring an open wreath of two large palm fronds tied at the base with a floral spray, enclosing the denomination numeral '١' (1) above the Arabic inscription 'قرش ليبي' (Libyan Piastre) and the date '١٩٥٢' in Eastern Arabic numerals. A royal crown surmounts the wreath at the top, topped by a crescent and star. Arabic legends appear in the left and right fields flanking the wreath. The Latin legend 'ONE PIASTRE' is inscribed along the lower rim. A toothed border frames the design.
