Obverse description A passant lion sejant facing left, with its right forepaw resting upon an upright key — the heraldic symbol of Gibraltar — occupying the central field. The lion is rendered in detailed relief with a full mane and curled tail. The surrounding legend reads PAYABLE AT ROBERT KEELING & SONS GIBRALTAR, disposed in a continuous arc around the periphery within a beaded border.

Reverse description The Arms of Gibraltar depicted as a triple-towered castle with an arched gateway at the base of the central tower, rendered in fine architectural relief occupying the majority of the field. The legend VALUE ONE QUARTO arcs along the left and upper periphery, while the date 1810 appears prominently in large numerals in the lower exergual area. The whole is enclosed within a beaded border.
