| Obverse description | Central Jerusalem cross with flared terminals divides the field into four quarters, each bearing alternating castles and lions passant in the heraldic tradition of the Crown of Castile and León. The irregular cob flan results in partial visibility of the surrounding circular legend. The design follows the standard macuquina (cob coinage) type struck at Lima for Carlos II, with the cross rendered in bold relief characteristic of hammered colonial silver coinage. |
