Obverse description Draped bust of King Carlos IV facing right, rendered in the laureate portrait style characteristic of late 18th-century Spanish colonial coinage. The effigy shows the king with a ribbon-tied queue and lace jabot, in high relief against a flat field. The circumferential legend reads · CAROLUS · IV · DEI · GRATIA · with the date below the truncation. The portrait follows the standardized Gordian bust type introduced for Carlos IV.
