Not a banknote and never legal tender — this is a lottery ticket issued by the Swedish Red Cross in 1953 to raise charitable funds, a form of organized fundraising the organization had used since the early twentieth century. The riksdaler riksmynt denomination is purely nominal, a decorative nod to Sweden's pre-1873 currency unit that had been obsolete for eighty years by the time this ticket was printed. The anachronism was deliberate, lending the ticket a currency-like appearance to encourage collectors to retain rather than redeem.
