The Farmers' Organisation Authority — known by its Malay acronym LPP — was established under the Farmers' Organisation Act of 1973, consolidating smallholder agricultural cooperatives that had operated in fragmented form since the early independence period. The 2024 issue marks fifty years from that founding legislation. Nordic gold, the copper-aluminum-zinc-tin alloy used widely by European mints since the 1990s, was adopted here almost certainly for its resistance to tarnishing in humid tropical circulation conditions.
