Issued for the 1976 Romsdal scout jamboree held at Åndalsnes, this is a local scrip token rather than a circulating banknote — produced for exchange within the camp and worthless outside it. Nikolai Olsens trykkeri, a Norwegian commercial press, handled production, which was standard practice for Norwegian scout events of the period that needed simple, functional internal currency.

The denomination "Romsdaler" is a regional pun: the krone was Norway's real currency, but Romsdal is the district, and "daler" the old pre-decimal unit.
