| Obverse description | Central field features a stylised yantra (tantric geometric diagram) composed of interlocking rectangular compartments arranged in a cross-like pattern, enclosing a central roundel bearing a trishula (trident) — the sacred symbol of Shiva. The royal name and titles of King Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah are inscribed in Devanagari script within the compartments of the yantra, reading 'Shri Shri Shri Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah Deva Maharajadhiraj'. The Bikram Sambat date 2007 (= 1950 AD) appears at the base of the design. A decorative beaded border surrounds the entire composition. |

| Reverse description | Central roundel contains an upright khanda (double-edged sword) flanked symmetrically by two crossed laurel or olive branches, forming a heraldic arrangement. Devanagari inscriptions within the roundel read 'Ek Rupaya Nepal' (One Rupee, Nepal). The central roundel is set within a decorative scalloped or lotus-petal border forming a circular inner frame. Around the periphery, additional Devanagari honorific legends appear. A reeded outer border frames the entire reverse design. |
