Obverse description Central field features the Bolivian national arms: a triangular mountain landscape with a radiant sun rising above the peaks, a standing llama to the left and a grazing alpaca at centre, flanked on the right by a sheaf of wheat and a breadfruit tree. The denomination mark '1S' appears at lower left and the mint master initials 'LM' at lower right, separated by a row of six small stars and rosettes. The date '1836' is inscribed in the lower exergual area, with the mint mark 'PTS' (Potosí) integrated into the left legend. The surrounding legend reads '· REPUBLICA BOLIVIANA ·' in raised Latin lettering, and the entire design is enclosed within a bold milled border.
