| Obverse description | Helmeted head of Menrva (the Etruscan equivalent of Athena/Minerva) facing right, rendered in archaic Etruscan style. The goddess wears a crested Corinthian helmet adorned with three pellets above the visor, serving as mark of value denoting the sextans denomination. The facial features are stylized yet expressive, with a pronounced eye and defined jaw, characteristic of the Populonian bronze series. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, typical of hammered cast bronzes of this period. |
