| Obverse description | Crowned and draped effigy of King George V facing left, as modelled by Sir Edgar Bertram MacKennal, wearing the Imperial State Crown and robes of state with decorative collar visible at the truncation. The surrounding legend reads GEORGIVS V D.G.BRITT: OMN: REX F.D.IND: IMP: in Latin, distributed around the periphery between fine inner and outer milled borders. The portrait is rendered in high relief with considerable detail in the crown and drapery, characteristic of MacKennal's authoritative style for British colonial coinage of the period. |
