(Translation: George VI by the Grace of God, King of all the British territories, Defender of the Faith)
Reverse description A boldly rendered merino ram's head faces left at centre, occupying most of the field, with prominent curved horns rendered in high relief — a symbol of Australia's wool industry, designed by George Kruger Gray. The legend AUSTRALIA arcs across the upper portion of the coin, while SHILLING and the date appear along the lower arc, separated by a central dot. Two six-pointed stars flank the ram's head at the mid-field level on either side. The designer's initials 'KG' appear to the right of the ram's head. A beaded border frames the entire design.
