| Reverse description | The reverse displays a finely detailed imperial five-clawed dragon rendered in high relief, depicted in a coiling posture facing forward with a flaming pearl beneath its body, surrounded by stylised clouds and rolling waves at the base. The dragon's scales, mane, and claws are rendered with considerable detail in the Qing provincial minting tradition. The upper legend reads YUN-NAN PROVINCE in arched Latin capital letters, while the lower legend reads ONE TAEL in similar lettering. Small rosette ornaments punctuate the field at each side of the dragon. A beaded inner circle and a reeded outer rim frame the design. |
