Pietro del Monte Santa Maria served as Grand Master from 1568 to 1572, a tenure consumed almost entirely by the aftermath of the Great Siege of 1565. The Order's mint on Malta was still rebuilding institutional normalcy when this tari was struck — coinage production under del Monte was modest, and survivors in any condition are genuinely scarce relative to issues from longer or more prosperous grand masterships.
