Bar and bowling alley scrip from Cadott, a small lumber and farming community in Chippewa County. These lane-credit or drink tokens printed on paper were common in rural Wisconsin taverns through the mid-to-late twentieth century — functional IOUs kept behind the bar and redeemed against tabs or game credits rather than circulated as currency proper.
Cadott's local scrip tradition has attracted little systematic documentation, which means survivorship is purely accidental.
