| Obverse description | Head of a deity or heroic figure facing left, rendered in the archaic Etruscan style characteristic of central Italian bronze coinage of the late 3rd century BC. The portrait is executed in low relief with broad, somewhat schematic modelling, showing a helmeted or wreathed head with prominent facial features. The flan is irregular and the surfaces show typical casting characteristics of the heavy aes grave tradition. No legend appears on this face. The overall style reflects the distinctive Etruscan artistic vocabulary blended with Greek iconographic influence. |
