Comments

Hell bank notes are votive offerings burned at funerals and ancestral rites across Chinese communities worldwide, intended to provide the deceased with spending money in the afterlife. The issuing "bank" printed on these notes is entirely fictitious — no such financial institution exists or is licensed anywhere. The denomination is meaningless by design; inflation in the afterlife, apparently, is severe.

These are not collectible banknotes in any numismatic sense. They appear in catalogs occasionally as curiosities or reference items, but they have no issued value, no central bank backing, and no monetary history worth documenting.
