This note was printed by De La Rue in London for the National Bank of South Vietnam but never placed into circulation. The fall of Saigon on 30 April 1975 rendered the issuing authority defunct before distribution could occur, leaving the entire print run unissued. Notes from this series reached collectors primarily through the trade rather than through any formal release, which accounts for the unusually high survival rate in unhandled condition.
