The Republika Srpska Krajina was a self-proclaimed Serb entity in Croatian territory, unrecognized internationally and dependent on Belgrade for material support — including its currency. ZIN's involvement here was not incidental; Serbian state printing infrastructure effectively underwrote the Krajina's monetary operations throughout its short existence.

The RSK ceased to exist in August 1995 when Croatian forces overran the territory in Operation Storm, one of the largest military offensives in Europe since 1945. Notes from the 1994 series had barely had time to circulate before the issuing authority itself was extinguished.
