| Obverse description | The arms of Uganda occupy the central field, depicting a shield charged with a sun in chief and waves in base, supported dexter by a Uganda kob (antelope) rampant and sinister by a grey crowned crane, both rendered in fine relief. Below the shield, a grassy mound bears a traditional drum flanked by sprigs of vegetation, and a scroll at the base carries the national motto FOR GOD AND MY COUNTRY in raised lettering. The issuer legend BANK OF UGANDA arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 10 000 SHILLINGS curves along the lower periphery, all in upright Latin capitals against a mirror-polished field. |
