| Reverse description | The central vignette reproduces a wintertime urban scene after Stanisław Wyspiański's painting 'Planty Park at Dawn', rendered in intaglio with bare-branched trees in the foreground and a domed building visible beyond, printed in muted rose and dark olive tones. At upper left the bank title NARODOWY BANK POLSKI is set in bold serif letterpress, while a guilloche numeral panel in pink and green occupies the upper right corner. The denomination DZIESIĘĆ TYSIĘCY ZŁOTYCH and the numeral 10 000 appear at lower left, with the NBP monogram in stylised calligraphy to the right and the legal tender clause running along the lower margin. |

Poland's inflation through the second half of the 1980s was severe enough that denominations climbed faster than the mint could retire old stock. By the time this note entered circulation, the zloty had been depreciating sharply under the weight of a centrally planned economy losing control of prices — the 10,000 złoty face value, unthinkable a decade earlier, would itself be rendered almost worthless within a few years of issue.
The series was superseded rapidly. The 1990 redenomination eventually replaced 10,000 old złotych with a single new złoty, making the entire P#151 run functionally obsolete at a ratio of 10,000:1.
