Comments

Camp Knox was an Icelandic internment and POW facility operating under Allied administration during the occupation period. The "Aurar" denomination — the Icelandic subunit of the Króna — is a deliberate choice, tying this scrip to local purchasing power rather than issuing it in a foreign military currency, which suggests it was intended for use in a defined commercial environment with Icelandic pricing in mind.

Ship Service scrip of this type rarely survives in any quantity. Most camp-issue paper was either spent to destruction or voided and pulped at the close of operations.
