Obverse description Central device consists of the Danish royal arms of Iceland: a quartered heraldic shield bearing a Scandinavian cross with horizontal lines in each quarter, surmounted by an ornate royal crown. The date is inscribed to the left and right of the crown. The royal cypher 'CXR' (Christianus X Rex) is flanked on either side of the shield, with the engraver's initials 'HCN' at lower left and 'GJ' at lower right, each separated by a heart-shaped mintmaster's mark. The entire design is framed by a beaded inner border.
