Reverse description The large numeral 10 dominates the central field in bold raised relief, with the denomination legend CENTESIMOS inscribed along the lower arc. Flanking the numeral on either side are sprigs of laurel or olive, their branches curving outward symmetrically toward the upper field. The dodecagonal coin shape is accentuated by a raised rim following the stepped edge contour.

Additional information

Uruguay's 1976 military government was consolidating economic control following the 1973 coup, and the Banco Central was actively exploring new coinage compositions and denominations as part of broader monetary restructuring. Pattern issues from this period are characteristically sparse in documentation — the Banco Central did not publicize rejected trials, and many Pn-series pieces from the mid-1970s survive in single-digit quantities.
