The Institut za Hemiju, Tehnologiju i Metalurgiju in Belgrade — a state research institute — issued its own internal scrip for use within its facilities, a practice not uncommon among large Yugoslav institutions during periods when petty cash management was easier handled through proprietary tokens or paper chits than through the national banking system. These pieces exist in a gray zone between emergency currency and institutional voucher.
Almost nothing is formally documented about the print run, issuing period, or redemption mechanism. Survival is accidental rather than systematic.
