Reverse description Printed in warm sepia, the reverse is built from intricate engine-turned guilloche lathe-work with large numeral "10" medallions at each corner and at the left and right centres. The central panel encloses an ornate oval cartouche bearing a heraldic lion rampant above the bank's founding date "1873" and the circular legend "THE STANDARD BANK OF CANADA", with "TEN DOLLARS" lettered in a panel along the lower margin.
