Obverse description Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the George IV State Diadem and a pearl drop earring, rendered in the fourth definitive portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley. The queen's bare shoulders and neckline are visible at the bust truncation. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the left field and FIJI 2000 along the right field, all in raised Latin lettering against a mirror-polished proof field.

Reverse description Central composition depicting Dakuwaqa, the Fijian shark god, rendered as a large shark swimming leftward across the upper field, its body finely detailed with gill slits and pectoral fins. Below and to the right, a large octopus with outstretched tentacles occupies the lower field, accompanied by a small sea serpent in the lower left. Coral or seaweed sprigs appear at lower right. The curved legend THE SHARK GOD DAKUWAQA arcs across the upper field, and the denomination $10 appears in the exergue at the base of the design.
