Obverse description Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, after the fourth portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley. The legend ELIZABETH II runs vertically along the left rim, with FIJI and the date 2008 arranged vertically along the right rim. The engraver's initials IRB appear in small relief below the truncation of the bust.

Reverse description Central design depicting a stylised Lapita ceramic art motif, rendered as an oval composition of concentric bands filled with traditional geometric and dentate-stamped patterns. At the centre of the design is a schematic anthropomorphic face flanked by circular scroll elements and triangular geometric forms, all characteristic of ancient Lapita pottery decoration from the Pacific.
