| Obverse description | The coat of arms of Grenada, featuring a quartered shield supported by an armadillo on the left and a dove on the right, is displayed centrally within a beaded inner circle. Above the shield rises an elaborate crest comprising a galleon upon a wreath of bougainvillea. Below the supporters, a scroll bears the national motto 'EVER CONSCIOUS AS ONE PEOPLE' and a secondary ribbon reading 'OF GOD WE ASPIRE BUILD AND ADVANCE'. The country name GRENADA appears in the lower field beneath the arms. The peripheral legend reading ROYAL VISIT 1985 arcs across the upper field and TEN DOLLARS across the lower field, all separated by raised dots at the sides. |

The bust is draped and presented in a refined, slightly idealized style characteristic of the Maklouf portrait used on Commonwealth coinage from 1985. The engraver's initials RDM appear discreetly below the truncation. The circumferential legend QUEEN ELIZABETH THE SECOND arcs around the upper and right portion of the field within a beaded border. |
