Grenada issued this piece to mark Queen Elizabeth II's visit to the island in 1985, one stop on a Caribbean tour that followed years of acute regional instability — the 1983 U.S.-led intervention on the island was barely two years past, and the visit carried unmistakable diplomatic weight as the country rebuilt under a new government after the execution of Prime Minister Maurice Bishop.
