Kiribati, a Pacific island nation with no meaningful history of circulating coinage, has long licensed its sovereign name to novelty bullion producers — this piece being among the more elaborate examples. The "Snowman Bottom" designation marks it as the lower half of a two-coin set, designed to stack with its companion piece to form a complete snowman figure when the black zirconia stones and frosted surfaces align.
