Obverse description The obverse is printed in tones of red and pink, with a Romanesque arch and doorway vignette at right centre rendered in fine intaglio engraving. The large numeral '10' appears at upper right within a guilloche latticework border strip along the right edge, while a smaller numeral is repeated vertically in the same strip. The EU flag with twelve gold stars occupies the upper left corner, and the inscription 'BCE ECB EZB EKT EKP' together with the year '2002' runs along the top margin; 'EURO' and 'EYPO' are printed in large letterpress at lower left above a gold star.
