| Reverse description | The reverse depicts two dynamic athletic figures in mid-stride, rendered in high relief against a striated background evoking a modern stadium or running track, with a stylized architectural arch framing the upper field. A coloured Greek national flag (blue and white stripes) is shown at the lower centre beneath the athletes, adding chromatic emphasis to the design. The circumferential legend 'ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΕΣ ΑΘΛΗΤΙΚΕΣ ΕΠΙΤΥΧΙΕΣ 20 ΧΡΟΝΙΑ ΜΕΤΑ' (Greek Athletic Achievements 20 Years Later) runs along the upper border, while the date '2024' appears prominently at the base of the coin. |

Issued to mark the twentieth anniversary of the 2004 Athens Olympics — the first Games held in Greece since the modern revival in 1896. Athens won the hosting bid in 1997 after a famously bitter loss to Atlanta for the 1996 centennial Games, a decision that had caused considerable diplomatic friction and remains a sore point in Greek Olympic history.
