The Netherlands Antilles never adopted the euro, making this a pattern struck purely for evaluation purposes — almost certainly produced in anticipation of discussions about Caribbean monetary integration that never materialized. The island federation was dissolved entirely in 2010, with Curaçao and Sint Maarten becoming constituent countries and the remaining islands absorbing directly into the Netherlands as special municipalities.
