| Obverse description | The obverse features the official emblem of the Athens 2004 Summer Olympics at centre, comprising the five interlocked Olympic rings surmounted by the inscription ΑΘΗΝΑ 2004 in Greek characters. Encircling the central motif is a stylised kotinos — an olive wreath branch — rendered in a flowing, modern artistic style, referencing the ancient Olympic prize awarded to champions.
