Sopronnyék — now Nikitsch in modern Austria, transferred to Burgenland after the post-WWI territorial settlements — housed one of the Austro-Hungarian empire's many Kriegsgefangenenlager, and like most large camps, it issued its own internal scrip to prevent prisoners from accumulating currency usable outside the wire. The 10 Fillér denomination is the smallest in the Sopronnyék series, intended for canteen transactions and minor labor credits.

Globus Nyomda in Budapest was a commercial printing house pressed into service for numerous camp issues during the war years — the production quality reflects a civilian printer working to a military contract with no particular urgency for security features.
