Kuwait's fils denominations were struck in gold-plated silver as part of a proof and collector series issued through the Central Bank during the late 2000s, a period when Gulf states were broadly expanding their numismatic programs in response to sustained high oil revenues. The KM#11c designation places this piece as a compositional variant within a long-running type family — the underlying 10 fils design had been in continuous production since Kuwait's post-independence coinage reform of 1961.
