Canton-themed collector issues from Swissmint have been produced annually since 2003, cycling through all 26 cantons. Graubünden — Switzerland's largest canton by area and its only trilingual one, with Romansh, German, and Italian all holding official status — is an administratively singular entity whose boundaries were drawn more by Alpine geography than political logic. The silver-plated copper-nickel composition places this firmly in the non-circulating collector category, where Swissmint has increasingly migrated its cantonal 10-franc program since rising silver prices made the earlier bimetallic formats impractical.
