| Obverse description | Bare-headed right-facing effigy of Prince Rainier III occupying the central field, rendered in high relief with fine portrait detail by engraver G. Simon, whose signature appears below the bust. The circumferential legend reads RAINIER·III·PRINCE·DE·MONACO, disposed around the full perimeter of the obverse in Roman capitals. The deep, polished field and double-thickness flan characteristic of a piedfort strike accentuate the sculptural quality of the portrait. |

| Reverse description | The full crowned coat of arms of Monaco occupies the central field, depicting the elaborate Grimaldi escutcheon supported by two monks in habit, the shield bearing the traditional lozengy fusilly argent and gules pattern, surmounted by a princely crown. The denomination 10 FRANCS is inscribed in large Roman capitals arching across the upper field, while the commemorative dates 1949 . 1974, marking the 25th anniversary of Prince Rainier III's reign, are inscribed along the lower field. The broad, mirror-like flat rim and double-thickness piedfort flan give the design exceptional depth and definition. |
