Austrian Notgeld from Lembach im Mühlkreis, a small market town in Upper Austria's Mühlviertel. These municipal emergency notes were issued during the acute coin shortage that gripped Austria following the First World War — a shortage so severe that hundreds of individual Gemeinden printed their own fractional paper to keep local commerce moving. Lembach's series is attributed to designer H. Bayer, an uncommon detail for issues at this level of municipal administration, where design credits were rarely recorded.

The Jaksch/Pick reference JPR0510e-10 places this within the catalogued Upper Austrian Notgeld corpus. Oberhumer's signature as the authorizing local official is the only accountability mechanism on the note.
