The Antalócz prisoner-of-war camp was one of dozens of Austro-Hungarian military internment facilities that issued their own internal currency during the First World War, administered under the k.u.k. Kriegsministerium's industrial work detachments. The 12th Department designation places this squarely within the military labor organization structure — prisoners assigned to industrial work groups were paid in camp scrip rather than crown currency, preventing any value from leaving the facility.

Campbell 1309 is among the scarcer denominations from this camp. Antalócz-issued notes rarely surface outside Central European collections.
