| Obverse description | Right-facing effigy of Queen Margrethe II, diademed with a jewelled crown, engraved in high relief with a naturalistic portrait style. The circumferential legend reads MARGRETHE II • DANMARKS DRONNING, separated by decorative heart symbols, running along the upper and lower rim. The word PRØVE (meaning 'pattern' or 'trial') appears incuse in the left field beside the queen's neck, with the date 1986 and mint marks positioned at the base of the portrait. The design is the work of engraver Hanne Varming. |
