| Obverse description | The obverse is dominated by a large red intaglio denomination numeral 'TIO' printed across the centre as an underprint over the black letterpress text. In the upper centre, a vignette of a sailing vessel and marine scene is flanked by the bank's name 'CHRISTINEHAMNS ENSKILDA BANK' in a ribbon cartouche. To the lower left, an oval portrait vignette of a young woman in period dress is set within an ornate guilloche border, while to the lower right a perched eagle vignette balances the composition; the denomination '10' appears in floriate cornerpieces at the upper left and right. |

Christinehamns Enskilda Bank was one of Sweden's smaller provincial enskilda banks, operating out of the modest industrial town of Kristinehamn on Lake Vänern. These institutions had the right to issue their own notes under the 1824 and later 1855 banking legislation, but that privilege was progressively wound down after the Riksbank asserted its monopoly through the 1897 Riksbank Act — giving surviving provincial issues a hard cutoff and making late-dated examples from smaller banks disproportionately scarce.
Christinehamns itself was among the quieter issuers; total circulation figures for the bank were never large, and the 1884 series had limited distribution even at the time of issue.
