Additional information

Turkey's small bronze kuruş denominations from this period were produced in enormous quantities to serve a rapidly urbanizing population, but persistent inflation steadily eroded their purchasing power until the 10 kuruş became effectively worthless in daily commerce well before the series ended in 1974. The Turkish lira had lost the majority of its value against hard currencies by the early 1970s, and coins of this denomination were already being ignored in circulation before official withdrawal.
